This page has been blank for a few months. I decided to delete everything in it. Now what I want to have here are the books from my friends I am promoting.
I discovered a few books that have been a real treat. As I read, I write the name of those books and place them aside.
The book I am promoting in the month of August 2022 is Captive Hearts. This is an enthralling regency romance, sure to keep you reading until late into the night. The characters are likable and well-written.
Kelly Miller’s Captive Hearts left me wanting to read more of her books. I am not a fan of Austen’s books, but I was curious after finding the book’s advertisement on Twitter. How can a writer take Austen’s books and write a what if?
I was glad I read the book. Miller did an excellent job taking characters and giving us a closer look at their innermost feelings. I became emotionally attached to Wentworth. One of the things I liked the most was that she used the MMC point of view and the First Person’s POV to narrate the story. I liked that about this story. This is a captivating and powerful story that left me wanting to read more books by Miller.
She followed in her steps true to Austen’s books. The only thing I found in this book is that the pace was a little slow for my taste. However, I read fantasy and action/adventure books, so maybe that drives my need for speed in books.
All in all, I recommend this book for all regency romance lovers.
